Leaders of Global Bharat series off to a great start

From agriculture to Unani medicine to pathology, TV9 Bharatvarsh brings you the success stories of 3 Indian business giants

The first episode of SAP and TV9 Network’s Leaders of Global Bharat traces the journey of three extraordinary individuals who have built world-class operations through sheer grit and determination.

The first of these pioneers is Ram Gopal Agarwal, Founder Chairman of Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. Starting with just Rs 25,000, he has built a company worth Rs 2,000 crore. From a rented factory in Gurugram, there are now 3 manufacturing units, 40 warehouses and 14 branches. Today, Dhanuka Agritech is the world’s 7th largest company in the manufacture of pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides.

Even in the current scenario, Ram Gopal Agarwal approaches business with great enthusiasm. He says “5 months is a long time and the future remains uncertain, but it is important to keep your morale high in these tough times.”

The program then caught up with Hamid Ahmed, CEO of Hamdard Laboratories. The non-profit organization established by his grandfather has come a long way from a small herbal shop. Rooh Afza, the popular household drink, was introduced by Hamdard as Unani medicine. The world has changed, but the company keeps innovating.

“This year, we have launched Rooh Afza in a ready-to-drink format and there are 5 variants by the name of Rooh Afza Fusion”, said Hamid Ahmed. He remains committed to transforming the 114-year old organization.

The final leader featured is Brigadier Padmashree Dr. Arvind Lal, Executive Chairman of Dr Lal PathLabs. One of the country’s oldest labs, today there are 216 branches and 2,600 collection centres. Started with just Rs 8,000, the company is now worth over Rs 500 crore.

Despite the industry-wide disruption, Dr Lal PathLabs has been serving the country with single-minded focus. “We could not have survived these COVID times without digitization”, said Dr. Arvind Lal. 70,000 tests in a day, 2 crore in a year – an impressive feat. At 70, Dr. Arvind still has the same determination and courage to succeed.

With 3 tales of innovation and resilience, the first episode of Leaders of Global Bharat offers valuable insights for Indian MSME and business owners as they navigate through the current environment.

The episodes would continue to be featured on Growth Matters Forum, even as they are aired on TV9 Bharatvarsh at 11:30 am every Sunday.
