The second episode of SAP and TV9 Network’s Leaders of Global Bharat showcases three visionaries who have built and sustained global businesses from small-town operations. Their success stories have a common thread – smart business decisions combined with technology-driven solutions.
It features Amit Jain, CEO and CoFounder, CarDekho, an online portal that grew its visitors from 500 to 8 crores in a span of 13 years. He shares his unique journey and how the business was revived after going bankrupt in the 2009 stock market crash. He talks about diversifying into the motor and health insurance sector for instance.
The second leader is Rajeev Setia, Joint Managing Director, Chaman Lal Setia Exports Ltd., owner of the Maharani basmati rice brand which is exported to 80 countries worldwide. From a revenue of Rs 8000, the company now has earnings of over Rs 800 crores.
And finally, we have K.L. Bansal, CMD, DEE Development Engineers Ltd., who has leveraged digitization to build a company that is among the top 10 in the world in its field. He has bagged the Government’s Exporter of the Year award for three years, and says “Without digitization, there is no question of survival for our business today”.
