25,000 MSMEs Registered for ZED Certification

MSMEs under this scheme have to undergo an assessment to be ZED certified.

The Ministry of MSME, headed by Minister Narayan Rane, released the latest numbers of MSMEs registered under PM Modi’s Zero Defect, Zero Effect (ZED) Scheme which empowers MSMEs to manufacture goods with neither defects nor environmental effects to boost competitiveness, and exports.

MSMEs under this scheme have to undergo an assessment to be ZED certified. The certifications include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Platinum categories. The Government of India will subsidize up to 80% of the certification cost and grant up to ₹5 Lakhs to MSMEs to invest in improving their certification and adopting zero effect measures.

Till now, out of the 503 MSMEs who have been certified, 131 have been granted Bronze, 132 Silver, 62 Gold and Four Diamond. The Ministry of MSME is confident that more MSMEs will soon be certified.
