He spoke about his aspirations as a youth and the two main factors that drove his ambitions. The first was he realized that there was a plethora of patients in the country with varied medical problems. However, most of the time the resources were severely limited. His goal was to give the best possible medical care with the resources available at his disposal. The second was, on perusing through medicine-focused research journals, he realized that there were hardly any Indian authors. He tried to remedy this by becoming a prolific author and researcher himself. He also spoke of his goal to bring India to the forefront when it came to cardiology and most of his efforts have been driven by this goal. Dr. Patel also gave the audience some valuable tips for maintaining a healthy heart including yoga, cardio, and meditation.
